A day at a local state park

We spent a few hours hiking at a local state park. It was fun but we got lost and that wasn't fun! We were all very tired when we finally found the car and decided it should be an ice cream day :)

Homemade Cornbread

I accidently stuck my finger in it lol. I got this recipe from this blog. I made a double batch. It is really good, I like really sweet cornbread so next time I might add more sugar but its a keeper for sure! :)

Ingredients
1Cup all purpose flour
1 Cup yellow, white or blue cornmeal ( I use yellow)
2-4 Tablespoons of sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup oil or melted shortening

Directions
~In a mixing bowl stir together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
~In another bowl beat together eggs, milk and oil.
~Add to flour mixture and mix just until batter is smooth. (Do not over mix)
~Pour into a greased 9x9x2 pan. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes or till golden brown.

Rise and Shine!

Good morning I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! :)

Life has been keeping us super busy. We finally decided to put our garden in this past weekend after much debate. We factored in money, time, space. We don't have a rototiller either so that was an obstacle. We did get to borrow one from our neighbor. I will post pictures soon of our little garden. I am super excited! :)

We are also planting flowers along our walk way. I have to go tonight after work and pick up some mulch to lay in the flower beds. It should look nice and hopefully soon we will have our house painted and a new front porch! Its hard to get stuff done when you only have the weekends to do it in.

I am working on so many crochet projects right now. I have three baby blankets for friends, one for my brothers baby(due in November), a scarf, dishcloths( I sold 20 to a lady how exciting is that!), a throw for the back of my couch and a headband! phew I am tired just writing that! lol
